February 14, a highlighted day for lovers of all kind. This post may be a brief reminder
for all the ‘Johnny come lately’ people who, for whatever reason, waited the last second to participate in today’s festivities. Although most take part and acknowledge this day, others view it as a commercially inflated holiday to drain unnecessary finances out of the consumer.

For those coupled up in a healthy productive relationship, this day among others, can be a beautiful occasion. There’s a misconception that Valentine’s Day is only reserved for women but men clearly get full benefits when they play their cards right as well. Year after year flowers, cards, chocolate, dinner and stuffed animals will forever be a staple. If you present a staple gift, also do something unexpected; a helicopter ride, a day cruise, or a personalized gift with his/her name or personal message engraved on it, the ideas are endless. I am a big fan of those in the creative club who put calculation in their efforts. Kudos if you top what you did the year before. This is where ‘It’s the thought that really counts’ come into play. I recently shopped a store where the Valentine section/isle was highly consumed with no way to even get a foot in that area, however, I was very impressed on the number of men who had some form of Valentine’s Day affection in their hand, arms or shopping cart (the most I’ve seen in years.)

Men (sidebar), there are several things most women will never turn down; money, a shopping spree, diamonds and lots of pampering and appreciation. But, there are plenty of practical women out there. So, you may not have a Black card, but may present a gas card, with today’s gas prices, lol, it couldn’t come at a better time. A piece of advice men, if she is a huge movie/music buff and like certain ones for her collection, although not romantic, but this is where ‘presentation’ comes into play. For instance, don’t hand your partner a plastic grocery bag and said “Here, Happy Valentine’s Day” and she see a few movies through the sheer bag -_- Really?! Straight-to-video unheard of movies you picked out for yourself. That would be at the top of the worse-gift-presentation list a guy never want to be on. I know many men are not the Suzy homemaker type, but with a little ribbon/bow, a nice little card in a gift bag/box could simply show effort was made. If you’re stuck on what to do or give, usually your partner may have mentioned weeks or months prior, of wants or needs in a conversation. Keep mental notes on this matter and you’ll be fine, but if he/she do not welcome surprises then you can never go wrong with keeping it simple.

Everyone enjoy your day whether a dinner date with your mother/grandmother, a
romantic outing, or a spicy sexy role play; swinging from the ceiling, whatever floats your boat, this day is about what we all seek...and that is LOVE, so give your person many reasons why you love them so.
