TURKEY SAUSAGE DIP FOR SUPER BOWL

By | Sunday, February 01, 2015 Leave a Comment

Just in time for Super Bowl XLIX (49), millions are eagerly awaiting to see what the Seahawks VS Patriots bring to Arizona. Whether you are hosting or attending a Super Bowl Party be sure to add this simple dip to the rest of the party food. Guaranteed everyone will return for more.

INGREDIENTS

2 Package/roll Ground Turkey (1lb each, I used turkey breakfast sausage)

2 cans Ro Tel, drained (mild, original or hot)

2 Package of Cream Cheese or Neufchatel (8oz each)

Salt & Pepper to taste (optional)

DIRECTIONS

1. Cook turkey until brown. If you substitute for ground beef or use half beef and turkey, be sure to drain the fat.

2. Add in Ro Tel, be sure to drain cans before adding to meat mixture.

3. Cut, room temperature, cream cheese into cubes or pieces and add. As it heats it will become easier to stir, mix well to incorporate all ingredients. Heat on low 5-10 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips or your favorite chip. Enjoy.

*Note* There are no right or wrong way to this simple dip. Here are other ideas:

-Ground Chicken
-Serve with Pasta shells for a pasta dish instead of chips
-Add onion or minced garlic/garlic powder seasoning or Cajun for a dash of spice

Neufchatel has less fat than regular cream cheese and turkey has less fat than beef….so I don’t feel as guilty with cutting back a little on the fat, lol.
Have you tried this or have a similar dip recipe? Leave me a comment. Xo.
