MATCHA GREEN TEA

Green tea has many benefits and recently I was in search of the Matcha Green Tea, powder-form, to add in my smoothies. As stated on my blog before, I am a ‘huge’ smoothie fan and often incorporate healthy additions in my blends. My favorite smoothie shop uses Matcha Green Tea in one of their wellness smoothies. Be careful when adding various ingredients due to calories adding up fast. There are plenty apps designed to tally up each item and its caloric value that you may deem useful. I purchased this at Whole Foods (5.5 oz. $19.99) A little pricey but most healthy foods are more expensive than those barely containing any nutritional value. If you are a tea drinker and love the benefits of green tea, give this a try. Next to water, teas are the next best thing. Don’t forget about the fat-burning properties associated with green tea over time, so drink up.

The website purports that a single serving contains 10-15 times the overall nutrients & 100 times more antioxidants of traditional green, white, black, rooibos and yerba mate teas. Daily consumption may help strengthen the immune system by protecting against free radicals and terminating their damaging effects. The high concentrations of L-theanine, an amino acid known to help relax the mind, also improve cognition and mood while reducing physical and mental stress.

Chlorophyll is a powerful detoxifier which aids in eliminating heavy metals, chemicals and toxins from the body. The plant leaves produce high levels of this.

Suggestive Use
