The
International Civil Rights Walk of Fame is sponsored by the Trumpet Awards
Foundation, Inc. and created/designed by Ms. Xernona Clayton, who serves as founder
and executive producer of the Trumpet Awards. It grows bigger each year, Ms.
Clayton states, “This Walk of Fame tells a phenomenal story about the legacy of
our nation. It is a permanent testimony to those who have dedicated themselves
to progress of our people and to this nation.”
The
International Civil Rights Walk of Fame held a special ceremony at the Martin
Luther King Jr. National Historic Center as part of the Trumpet Awards weekend.
This ceremony was created in 2004 to give recognition to the foot soldiers of
justice who sacrificed and struggled to make equality a reality for all. Now in
its tenth year, ten inductees were honored Footprints to be displayed at the
King Center.
